China’s Policy and Action Towards CDM

Participated in the negotiation of Kyoto Protocol implementation and contributed

Joined in CDM institutional system setup, international negotiation on implementation rules and operational procedures, made positive and substantial contributions to the faster implementation of CDM. 

Preparing to build a national CDM Council  under the leadership of National Climate Change Policy Coordination Group and constituting CDM project management rules, which have been officially issued.

Making national scientific and technological research plans and pushing national CDM capacity building and CDM policy research

Taking advantage of external conditions, urging international cooperation and conducting relevant research

Developing CDM projects market actively; encouraging energy industry and high energy-consuming enterprises to cooperate with relevant enterprises in developed countries; bringing forward CDM project proposals with clear and extra GHG emission reduction benefits, and in line with the priority areas and technologies of sustainable development
